Samuel Teo

Singaporean-born violinist Samuel Teo is an emerging artist in the music scenes of both Singapore and the United States. At the age of 7, he started playing the violin under the tutelage of Lee Shi Mei. When he moved to California for 2 years from the age of 8 to 10, he studied with Thutam Le at CSMA. During which he attained his ABRSM grade 5 theory with distinction. After having an opportunity to study both academics and music in California, Samuel moved back to Singapore where he pursued the violin under Eric Lim. This was when he joined his school, Catholic High Primary's String Ensemble and acquired the Certificate of Distinction Award in the Singapore Youth Festival. In addition, Samuel volunteered at his church, the Wesley Methodist Youth Ensemble and performed in a variety of church and charity events. After completing his PSLE at the age of 13, Samuel was selected to participate in the Music Elective Programme at his secondary school where he studied different types of music and took part in graded recitals.
